STATESBORO, GA.- Georgia Southern men's tennis is hosting the Georgia Southern Championships this weekend at Hanner Tennis Complex. Teams participating are Georgia Southern, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida Atlantic, Kennesaw State, University of North Florida, and Armstrong Atlantic. There will be 4 draws total, two singles and two doubles. Play will start at 9am on Friday and continue throughout the weekend.
Last time out, the Eagles competed at the Georgia State Invite. Albert Codina-Sala finished on top for the Eagles, with two singles
wins and two doubles wins. Partners Rayane Djouad and Oliver Webb defeated the 58th ranked doubles team in the nation from Georgia State 8-5.
The Eagles have been preparing for this tournament for two weeks and are anticipating some great competition. Coach Nick Zieziula said, "This is a great opportunity for our guys to compete on our home courts. We have spent the last two weeks really working on controlling the flow of matches through both our tactics and our responses to adversity in matches. The team has worked hard to prepare physically and mentally so we are excited to get out and compete."
