
Pair of Eagles Named Preseason All-SoCon by College Sports Madness

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern's MiMi DuBose and Anna Claire Knight have been named Preseason All-Southern Conference by College Sports Madness. DuBose earned a spot on the first team, while Knight was named to the second team.
DuBose averaged 12.4 points a game last season and was the only Eagle to start all 31 contests. The senior recorded double figures in the scoring column in 19 outings, scored 20 or more points seven times and led the Eagles in scoring 16 times. She ranked fourth in the league in 3-pointers made (1.8/gm) and 10th in the conference in free-throw percentage (.802).
Knight averaged 11.7 points and 5.9 rebounds a game for the Eagles in 2012-13. The junior was fifth in the league in free-throw percentage (.853) and 3-point percentage (.326). She scored in double figures 19 times, netted 20-plus points in three games and recorded two double-doubles.
Georgia Southern returns four starters and nine letterwinners, including four of its top-five scorers from last season. The Eagles open the season at Auburn Nov. 9, and play their home opener against Jacksonville State Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m., in a tripleheader with the Eagle volleyball and men's basketball teams.
Women's basketball season tickets are available for the 2013-14 season for $65. Georgia Southern University faculty and staff receive a $10 discount on season tickets.
