STATESBORO, Ga.- Georgia Southern women's soccer has two home competitions this weekend – Elon on Friday at 7pm, and University of North Carolina Greensboro on Sunday at 2pm. Friday's game is Ladies Night where the first 100 ladies will receive a ticket for a free Georgia Southern t-shirt, and the music will be geared toward a female audience. Sunday's game is Senior Day, honoring the Eagles' seven seniors as they take the field for their second to last home game of the season.
Last time out, the Eagles defeated The Citadel in Charleston, SC to boost their record up to 2-2-1 in the SoCon. It was a very physical game, and the windy weather put pressure on the Eagles to stay solid on defense. The secured the victory with

Caitlin Tongco, and
Alex Murphy scoring one goal each for the Eagles.
The last time the Eagles encountered the Elon Phoenix, they were blanked 1-0. The Eagles outshot the Phoenix 9-4, but the Eagles weren't able to recover from an early goal.
Similarly, the Eagles fell to UNCG last season 1-0. UNCG outshot GSU 6-5, and scored the game-winning goal in the 54th minute.
The Eagles hope to retaliate this season and notch two more wins on their record. Currently the Eagles are 4-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in SoCon play. Elon holds an 8-2-4 record overall and 2-1-2 in conference. UNCG's overall record is 7-5-2 while they are identical to Elon in the SoCon, 2-1-2.
