
Eagles Face Panthers in Rivalry Match on Friday

Men’s soccer match between Southern and State starts at 5 p.m.
STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Men's Soccer faces its in-state rival on Friday night as Georgia State comes to down for a non-conference showdown. The match starts at 5 p.m. from Eagle Field and can be seen live on GS All-Access at GSEagles.com. It is also the 2013 Junior Eagle Club Day and Bulloch County Recreation Night.

Georgia Southern looks to bounce-back from back-to-back league defats to open the conference slate. The Eagles dropped the SoCon opener 2-1 to Davidson and fell 3-0 to Wofford last Saturday night. Southern is 4-6 on the season.
Georgia Southern's offense has 12 goals this season and is led by a trio of scorers with three goals each. Eric Dinka, Hunter Norton and Witt Carlisle lead the team in scoring while Carlisle has two assists to lead the squad in total points.
Georgia State enters Friday's match at 4-5-1 on the year and are on a five-match unbeaten run. On Tuesday the Panthers needed overtime to get past Wofford, 2-1.
Jamal Keene and Stephen McGill lead the Panthers in scoring with three goals each. McGill has scored in each of the last two games. Aaron Jones has also been in form for the visitors, scoring a goal and three assists over his last three contests.
Georgia Southern hits the road next week for a trip to Elon. The Eagles face the Phoenix on Tuesday, October 15th, at 7 p.m. in the heart of North Carolina's Piedmont region.
