STATESBORO --- The Georgia Southern men's soccer team announces their schedule for the 2026 season, with eight matches of the Eagles' 17 salted to be played at Bo Pitts Field.
The season opener comes on August 20th, as the Eagles host FGCU at 7 PM. The season and home opener is followed by a two-game road stretch against both UNC Wilmington and Jacksonville. It's also the first time that the Eagles take on the Seahawks on the road in series history. On September 3rd, Southern hosts a team that they have not played since the 2003 season in Liberty, having won both games that the two squads have played against each other in program history.
After another two-match road span in Florida against both North Florida and Stetson, the Eagles return back home for their last match before conference play on September 13th against Mercer, a team they beat 3-0 last season for the largest win for the Eagles in series history since 1998. Southern starts Sun Belt play away from the nest as they travel to Coastal Carolina for a match at 7 PM on September 18th.
To transition into October, the Eagles host both Old Dominion and Georgia State on September 27th and October 2nd, respectively. Both the Monarchs and Panthers were squads that Southern took down on the road in 2025. Following that, the Eagles have their final non-conference match of 2026 as they travel to Clemson to test themselves by taking on the Tigers on October 6th, a team ranked as high as third in the county just last season.
The Eagles follow with another high-profile match as the continue north to play against Marshall on October 9th, a team that Southern beat last season for biggest win in program history. The Eagles close out the season with home matches against James Madison, West Virginia and UCF, while facing both South Carolina and Kentucky on the road. The Sun Belt Tournament is set to start on November 8th as the Eagles are looking to make a deeper run in 2026.
