Last time out at home the Eagles atoned for a 17-0 start by Georgia State to take a 68-64 victory over the Panthers in overtime. Georgia Southern trailed by 10 points with two minutes remaining, but the Eagles made a 10-0 run to level the scores and force the extra frame. Eric Ferguson scored 24 points in the game including the final six points of regulation. Thanks to that performance, Ferguson was named SoCon Player of the Month this week with 16.0 points per game.
Overall this season, Ferguson leads the Georgia Southern offense with 14.7 points per game. He has helped the Eagles to a 6-8 overall record behind 47% shooting from the field this year and ranks 35th in career scoring at Georgia Southern with 1,041 points.
Senior C.J. Reed has been explosive from beyond the arc, shooting 45% from the bonusphere en route to 11.4 points per game. With 1,814 career points between his games at Georgia Southern and Bethune-Cookman, Reed needs to average 10.9 points per game to reach 2,000 career points by the end of the regular season.
North Carolina A&T is 6-9 on the campaign, snapping a two-game skid with a win over Radford on Wednesday night at home. The Aggies defeated UNCG on November 28th in their only game against an opponent of the Eagles.
