C.J. Reed Named SoCon Player of the Week by CollegeSportsMadness.com

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Men’s Basketball Senior Point Guard C.J. Reed has been named SoCon Player of the Week by CollegeSportsMadness.com in its weekly honor roll. The senior guard led the Eagles to victories over Davidson and College of Charleston last week and earns the honor for the second time this season.
Against Davidson last Monday, Reed scored 16 points with five assists. Three nights later against College of Charleston, the senior dropped 14 with five more assists in his first career game against the Cougars. Reed closed the week with 13 points in the loss to The Citadel and three assists.
Reed was named SoCon Player of the Week as well as Mid-Major Player of the Week on December 18th following the Eagles’ upset win over Virginia Tech.
Georgia Southern visits the High Country this weekend for games against Appalachian State and Western Carolina. GSU faces the Mountaineers on Thursday night at 7 p.m. before playing Western Carolina on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
