CARROLTON, Ga. – Sara Curry finished 14th and Lindsay Mullican placed 23rd to lead the Georgia Southern cross country squad to a fifth-place finish at the inaugural UWG Invitational Saturday morning.
Curry ran the 5K course in 19:31.00, and Mullican recorded a time of 20:27.22. Asea Mayfield was 34th with a time of 21:39.59, and Kristiana Towns came in 38th with a time of 22:09.89. Amanda Ventre rounded out the Eagle five with a time of 23:50.43. It was the first time the Eagles had competed on that course.
"The course was pretty hilly, but in spite of the conditions, a majority of the team stuck to their race plans and ran well," said head coach Marlo Mincey.
The Eagles will run next Saturday in the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by The Citadel in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
