Catcher Griffin Named a Top PGCBL Prospect

STATESBORO, Ga. - Chase Griffin was named a top-30 prospect in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League as announced by Perfect Game on their website. Griffin checked in at #22 on the list of top prospects from the recently completed summer league.

Griffin, who played for the Glens Falls Golden Eagles, hit .304 with four home runs and 34 RBIs over the summer. The sophomore catcher helped the Golden Eagles to a championship series appearance after being selected First Team All-League.

A Freshman All-American selection by four publications, the freshman catcher broke out with three hits and four RBI on March 17th against UNCG and went on to hit a team-best .413 with nine home runs and 24 RBI over the next 21 games. Griffin finished the season hitting .320 with 10 doubles and 10 home runs in 2012.
