Fogle Picked SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Georgia Southern Softball outfielder Marie Fogle was named Southern Conference Softball player of the week for the week of March 12-18. The Eagle outfielder paced all SoCon batters with a .550 batting average last week.
The Rincon, Ga. native had a pair of 3-for-3 outings last week. In game one against Mercer, Fogle went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs scored as she slugged her third home run of the season. In the weekend opener, Fogle posted another 3-for-3 game on St. Patrick's Day en route to a big Eagle victory to open the series.
Fogle slugged 1.000 on the weekend with two doubles, two triples and the home run. Her .550 batting average was the result of a 11-for-20 weekend. She scored five runs while driving in three more runs. Fogle also earned three walks to post a .609 on base percentage for the week and went 5-for-5 stealing bases.
The Eagles head to Kennesaw State this weekend for a three-game non-conference series against the Owls. The set starts on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with a doubleheader in the northern suburbs of Atlanta.
