Eagles Host Brewton-Parker on Saturday Night

STATESBORO, GA. – After a week off, Georgia Southern Men’s Basketball returns to action with a home tilt against Brewton-Parker inside Hanner Fieldhouse. GSU faces the Barons at 7 p.m. The contest is GSU’s final home game before four games in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.
Fans can take advantage of a special ticket deals for the Brewton-Parker game. Fans can by a general admission ticket for Friday’s Women’s Basketball game against Mercer and Saturday’s Men’s Basketball game for $7. A general admission ticket for the Men’s game can be purchased for just $5. Fans can take advantage of a $2 ticket discount by donating a new, unwrapped toy to “Toys for Tots.”
The first 50 Georgia Southern students through the door on Saturday night will receive a free t-shirt.
Eric Ferguson led the Eagles in their last outing with 23 points versus Samford. He also added three steals in 36 minutes of action against the Bulldogs. GSU fell 57-48 in the contest despite shooting 46% from the field.
Last time out against Brewton-Parker, GSU took a 88-60 victory with five players scoring in double-figures led by 17 from Eric Ferguson and a double-double by Willie Powers III (11 points/11 assists). GSU had 10 of 14 players score points in the game as GSU shot 60% from the field.
The Eagles lead the all-time series 16-2, but have not fallen to the Barons since the 1930-31 season. Of the six contests in the modern era, GSU has won all six by an average score of 91.0 to 72.2.
Brewton-Parker enters Saturday’s game at 2-9 with a 0-4 mark in Southern States Conference play. Last time out, Brewton-Parker took a 70-68 win over Benedict College in Columbia, S.C.
Georgia Southern opens its run of four games in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic with a trip to Virginia Tech on Saturday, December 15th, GSU’s second regional game in the tournament is two days later at Bradley on December 17th.
