STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Men’s Basketball puts its two-game winning streak on the line on Saturday night with a trip to face the Maryland Terrapins in College Park. The game, which starts at 7 p.m. is the first contest between the programs in series history and the first of two games against ACC opponents this season.

Eric Ferguson scored 15 points with nine rebounds against Kennesaw State on Wednesday night. The Eagle junior has 894 career points and is zeroing in on becoming the 39th member of the 1,000 point club.
Cleon Roberts has been outstanding to open his collegiate career at Georgia Southern. The freshman has scored in double-figures every time out, scoring at a 13.0 points per game clip. Senior Cameron Baskerville played his best game of the year against the Owls, helping GSU with eight points and nine rebounds as GSU pounded Kennesaw State by a 62-46 margin.
Maryland has responded from a season-opening loss against Kentucky to reel off three-straight wins entering Saturday’s non-conference clash. Alex Len is the top scorer and top rebounder for the Terps who have outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points per game. Len has 12 of the team’s 24 shot blocks and leads the team in field goal percentage at .553.
Following Saturday’s game, GSU returns home to open SoCon play against Elon on Wednesday night. The game against the Phoenix starts at 7 p.m. inside Hanner Fieldhouse.
