Georgia Southern Hosts The Citadel on Monday

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Men's Basketball closes a grueling stretch of three games in five days on Monday night against The Citadel inside historic Hanner Fieldhouse. The game starts at 7 p.m.
Georgia Southern (7-11, 5-3 SoCon) remained undefeated in league play with a thrilling 64-58 win over College of Charleston on Saturday night in front of 3,025 fans inside Hanner Fieldhouse. Sophomore Eric Ferguson (Statesboro, Ga.) flushed a season-high six dunks en route to 19 points as the Eagles defended the home floor in style.
Georgia Southern out-rebounded the Cougars 40-30 and shot over 65% from the field in the second half to take the win and snap an eight game losing streak against the Cougars.
The Citadel (4-14, 1-6 SoCon) comes into Sunday's game on the heels of a tough 80-51 loss to Davidson on Saturday night in North Carolina. Mike Groselle scored 22 points from his center position for the Bulldogs and enters Monday's game with 17.2 points per game. Groselle is the Bulldogs only double-digit scorer on average and has 9.4 rebounds per game this season.
Monday's game is the final chance for fans to see the Eagles at home in the month of January before three road games take the season into its final month. Georgia Southern has four of its final six regular season games at the friendly confines. The Eagles travel to Samford on Thursday night (January 26th) before visiting Chattanooga on Saturday night, January 28th.
