Georgia Southern Returns to Action Against Jacksonville

STATESBORO, Ga. - Following 48 hours of rest from a thrilling 3-2 victory over Davidson, Georgia Southern Men's Soccer returns to action with a non-conference match against Jacksonville on Wednesday, September 28th, at 4 p.m. on Eagle Field. The Eagles share first place in the Southern Conference with a 1-0 league record and a 5-2-1 overall mark this season.
Senior Luigi Clendening (Augusta, Ga.) paces the Georgia Southern offensive attack with seven goals from eight matches this season. The Eagle offense is the best in the Southern Conference, averaging 2.50 goals per game.
Ryan Platt (Preston, England) has anchored the Georgia Southern defense with 27 saves and an 0.96 goals against average. Platt has allowed just six goals in six matches en route to a 4-1-1 record between the pipes.
Jacksonville is 2-5-1 overall with a 2-1 loss against UC Riverside in the last outing for the Dolphins. Stefan Durr leads JU with three goals, while Tyler Williams has delivered 16 shots.
Georgia Southern returns to league play this weekend with a Saturday afternoon match against the College of Charleston. The match begins at 4 p.m. and can be seen live on Eagle Vision.
