Former Eagle Baseball Coach Stallings Up for College Baseball Hall of Fame

LUBBOCK, Texas - Voting has began for the 2011 National College Baseball Hall of Fame Class and former Georgia Southern Baseball Head Coach Jack Stallings is one of 10 finalists in the coaches group.
The new members of the College Baseball Hall of Fame will be announced in mid-February once all the ballots have been tallied. If Stallings is selected, he will join former Mississippi State and Georgia Southern Head Coach Ron Polk in the hall of fame.
Stallings compiled a 1,255-799-10 record in a combined 39 seasons at Wake Forest, Florida State and Georgia Southern. The 18th-winningest coach in college baseball history, he compiled an 858-581-5 record in 24 seasons with the Eagles. Stallings holds the Georgia Southern record for most wins and years coached. A 2004 inductee into the Georgia Southern Hall of Fame, he was honored the following year by having the field at J.I. Clements Stadium named after him.
The voting panel is composed of approximately 190 members. It is comprised of national and regional college baseball media, active and retired coaches and media. Past College Baseball Hall of Fame inductees also vote.
The induction of this year's class will take place in conjunction with the College Baseball Awards show on July 3 in Lubbock, Texas.
