STATESBORO, Ga. - "By the Numbers" will spotlight a Georgia Southern athletics team each week with statistics, rankings and other interesting items of note during our Eagles' seasons. Men's Soccer is the featured team this week.
1: Georgia Southern is first in the Southern Conference standings.
1: The Eagles have the most points in the SoCon with six (3 for each league win).
3: Sophomore defender Drew Ruggles is tied for third in the SoCon with three assists.
5: Forward Luigi Clendening is fifth in the nation with two points per game.
6: Clendening's 0.82 goals per game average is good for sixth nationally.
6: Clendening has six game-winning goals in his career, including four in 2011.
6: Number of goals Witt Carlisle has scored so far in the 2011 season.
9: National rank for Georgia Southern for scoring offense (25 goals).
36: Clendening ranks 36th nationally in assists with four.
46: Goalkeeper Ryan Platt leads the SoCon with 46 saves this year.
The Men's Soccer team plays host to league opponent Wofford at 1 p.m. Friday, October 7th, at Eagle field in the first match of a doubleheader. Admission is free.
