Three Eagles Set Top Three Fastest Times in School History

Charleston, S.C. - Freshmen twin sisters Rebecca and Rachel Greenwall (Bogart, Ga.) and junior Sara Curry (Lawrenceville, Ga.) finished 22nd (17:59.60), 36th (18:25.10) and 41st (18:31.00), respectively, at the 2011 Southern Conference Championships on Saturday. The three Eagle runners recorded the top three fastest times in Georgia Southern history for the 5K, leading the Eagles to a 10th place finish at the Trophy Lakes Course on Johns Island. UNC Greensboro won the conference title in both the women's and men's competitions.

Junior Lindsay Mullican (Lancaster, Pa.) shattered her personal best by almost 40 seconds to finish in 81st place (19:44.90) and senior Brittany Martin (Alpharetta, Ga.) eclipsed her career best by nearly 30 seconds to finish in 82nd place (19:50.80). Mullican's time was the 11th fastest ever run at the Southern Conference Championships in Georgia Southern history.

Sophomore Asea Mayfield (Marietta, Ga.) recorded the lowest time (20:23.80) of her collegiate career and freshman Megan Sullivan (Huntersville, N.C.) posted her second lowest time (20:26.00) as an Eagle.

"We could not have asked for anything more from our runners today," said Head Coach Marlo Mincey. "Our top three runners set the top three fastest times in school history and our top five finishers all set personal bests. I'm extremely proud of our team's effort out there today."
