Curry Breaks Into All-Time Top 10 With 5K Time

FORT JACKSON, S.C. - Sophomore Sara Curry (Lawrenceville, Ga.) posted the 10th-best time in Georgia Southern cross country history for the 5K with a time of 19:25.31 at the Gamecock Invitational. Curry led the Eagles with a 17th-place finish at the meet as the they took fourth place overall at the event held at Hilton Field at Fort Jackson, S.C., this evening.
Brittani Martin (Alpharetta, Ga.) led a pack of Georgia Southern runners in the top 40 with a 35th-place finish (21:19.04) with Kassi Lee at 37th (21:22.29-Elberton, Ga.) and Heather McAllister (Cartersville, Ga.) taking 38th (21:24.07). Junior Azura Robillard (Apopka, Fla.) posted a time of 21:38.60 and Amanda Ventre (Acworth, Ga.) ran a time of 22:08.90.
The Georgia Southern Cross Country team races next at the Clemson Invitational, on Friday, September 17th. The Clemson Invitational, one of the first home meets held by the Tigers in several years, will be contested at Musser Farms, a peach orchard and fruit tree research center near the Clemson campus.
