Gloves4Good to Collect Baseball Equipment for Dominican Republic Youth

STATESBORO, Ga. – For the remaining Georgia Southern home baseball games this season, the Gloves4Good organization will be collecting previously enjoyed gloves, baseballs and other equipment to be distributed to Dominican Republic Youth. A Gloves4Good collection table will be located on the concourse of J.I. Clements Stadium for the Alcorn State series (May 9-10), Charleston Southern game (May 11) and The Citadel series (May 20-22).

Georgia Southern alum Bobby Lindsey (2006), who has worked with the program in conjunction with Atlanta-area baseball teams, is coordinating the effort between Gloves4Good and Georgia Southern Baseball. He assists the organization in its goal to provide safe, quality equipment to impoverished youth in the Dominican Republic.

Gloves4Good is a non-profit organization based in Woodstock, Ga. The organization will distribute the donated equipment to youth in the Dominican Republic during its next trip on July 3, 2010, with an additional trip scheduled for late fall.
