Iduate, Streetmon Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

Senior shortstop Nina Iduate (Norcross, Ga.) earned her first All-Region selection, while junior pitcher Brianna Streetmon (Winder, Ga.) was named to the team for the second straight season.
Iduate set a Southern Conference single-season record, hitting .450 for the year, a mark that ranked 11th nationally in Division I. The quick-paced slap-hitter led the league with 85 hits, scoring 37 runs with 12 RBIs from the leadoff spot, earning SoCon Player of the Year for her efforts.
She finished her career at Georgia Southern with a school-record .371 career batting average, and earned her third consecutive First Team All-Southern Conference honor. She was also the 39th toughest player to strikeout in the NCAA this season, failing to put the ball in play just 11 times.
Streetmon earned her second All-Region selection after repeating as the SoCon Pitcher of the Year, leading the league and finishing 67th in the NCAA with 19 victories. The Eagles' ace was second in the conference with a 1.97 ERA, allowing 63 earned runs in 224.0 innings.
The left-handed hurler also set a single-season school record with five saves, which ranked second in the conference and fifth in the NCAA. She recorded 169 strikeouts compared to 49 walks, and held opponents to a .220 batting average, earning First Team All-SoCon honors for the second time in as many years.
The duo led the Eagles to their third straight winning season, finishing 30-26 and third in the Southern Conference. This season also marks the first time the Eagles have posted three straight winning seasons since the program began in 1986.
