Side Named SoCon Softball Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Georgia Southern's Jenny Side (Loganville, Ga.) has been named Southern Conference Player of the Week for the week of March 22-28. UNC Greensboro's Amber Harrell was selected as Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week. Selections are made by the Southern Conference office.
Side, a senior third baseman, batted .583 for the week. She hit two home runs, drove in the three, and scored three times in four games played last week. Side hit a two-run home run in the first game on Saturday against Appalachian State en route to the Eagles' 3-0 win. She also went 3-3 against North Florida last Wednesday, with a home run and two RBIs in that game. Side was a second-team selection to the Southern Conference Preseason team.
Georgia Southern returns to action on Tuesday in Jacksonville, Fla. as the Eagles head to Jacksonville University for a doubleheader scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
