Playing in his final game at Hanner Fieldhouse, Hanson poured in a career-high 39 points against Elon last Thursday. He made 13 field goals, including nine from beyond three-point range. He became the first Eagle to reach the 30-point plateau since Donte Gennie scored 30 against The Citadel on February 19, 2007. Hanson followed that performance with 20 points, 14 in the second half, against UNC Greensboro Monday night.
The Fort Worth, Texas, native is second in the league with 3.2 made three-pointers per game and ranks third in three-point field goal percentage (.421). His numbers rank 20th nationally in both categories. Hanson averaged 13.5 points per game during the regular season, the ninth-best average in the conference. With 98 three-point baskets made during the 2009-10 season, Hanson is second on the GSU single-season list behind only Elton Nesbit (103). He is tied for fifth on the Eagle career list with 181 in two years at Georgia Southern.
