Streetmon Earns SoCon Pitcher of Week Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -Georgia Southern's Brianna Streetmon has been named Pitcher of the Week by the Southern Conference for all games played March 8-14. Elon's Emerald Graham has been tabbed the Southern Conference Softball Player of the Week. The selections are made by the league office.
Streetmon, a junior left-handed pitcher from Winder, Ga., went 3-0 last week in four appearances. She pitched 21 innings and posted a 0.00 ERA, while striking out 20. Streetmon walked just two and gave up 11 hits as the Eagles posted a 3-2 record on the week and won their SoCon opening series against UNCG. Preseason pick for SoCon Pitcher of the Year, Streetmon was the 2009 SoCon Pitcher of the Year, a member of last year's All-SoCon First Team and earned Most Outstanding Player accolades at the 2009 SoCon Tournament.
With the games at Radford postponed until a future date, the Eagles travel to No. 11/8 Georgia Tech Wednesday for a doubleheader.
