Curry Anchors Cross Country Team with Top-15 Finish

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - In the last competition before the Southern Conference Championships, the Georgia Southern Cross Country team competed in the USC Upstate Invitational, placing sixth overall. The Eagles performance was anchored by a top-15 time by sophomore Sara Curry (Lawrenceville, Ga.). Curry ran a 19:32.66 in the 5K meet, just seconds off her personal best set at the Gamecock Invitational earlier this year.
Classmate Heather McAllister (Cartersville, Ga.) recorded her second-best career time at 20.22.62 in the race and junior Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) had her best time of 2010 at 20:46.56. Junior Brittani Martin (Alpharetta, Ga.) returned to action this week and posted a 21:17.34 with Amanda Tennyson (Grayson, Ga.), racing in her first meet of the season, finishing behind her at 21:19.00.
The Eagles will train for the next two weeks in preparation for the Southern Conference Championships on Saturday, October 30th. Appalachian State will play host to championship 5K race. The start of the race is set for 10 a.m.
