Volleyball, "Meet the Basketball Eagles" and Eagle Rally Friday at Hanner

STATESBORO, Ga. - Hanner Fieldhouse will play host to two different sports Friday night as the Eagles Volleyball team will face UNC Greensboro in a Southern Conference match at 6 p.m., and then the basketball nets will replace the volleyball net for the annual "Meet the Basketball Eagles" event and Eagle Rally.
The Eagle basketball festivities will begin immediately following the Volleyball Eagles vs. UNC Greensboro match at 6 p.m. All events Friday night are free and open to the public and fans are encouraged to come to Hanner early to watch the Eagles play the Spartans in a key SoCon volleyball match.
Members of the 2010-2011 Georgia Southern Men's and Women's Basketball teams will be introduced by Eagle Head Coaches Rusty Cram and Charlton "C.Y." Young and Volleyball Head Coach Chad Callihan will introduce the Eagle Volleyball team after its match.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free slice of Domino's pizza and 1,000 fans will receive coupons courtesy of McDonald's of Statesboro. Chick-fil-A of Statesboro will also present 750 coupons to the crowd.
Both the men's and women's teams will compete for a three-point shooting title and then fans will have the opportunity to determine which men's basketball player performs the best dunk in annual dunk contest. After the activities on the court, fans are invited to stay to have schedule posters and cards autographed by the Eagles following the event.
Representatives from the Georgia Southern Athletics Ticket Office will be on the concourse level selling season tickets for upcoming basketball seasons. Fan favorite "GUS" will entertain fans, the all-girl Georgia Southern cheerleadering squad will be performing and Southern Explosion will perform a dance routine as well.
Also Southern Explosion will be performing a dance routine, all-girl GSU cheerleading squad will be in attendance and performing stunts and cheers, and GUS will be performing a skit for the crowd.
