STATESBORO, Ga. - The Eagles (0-2) return from the season opening tournament to face Campbell (0-2) Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Men's Soccer came close to earning its first win on Sunday. UCF scored two early goals in the first half, but the Eagles came out attacking in the second half and got an early goal from Danny Hall (Conyers, Ga.) off of a penalty kick in the 54th minute.
Georgia Southern saw five of their six corner kicks come in the second half.
Witt Carlisle (Alpharetta, Ga.) just missed tying the game twice. His first attempt was a header in the 73rd minute, and his second hit the crossbar in the 77th minute of play.
Joey Ralph (Evans, Ga.) tied a career high with nine saves. Ralph previously recorded nine saves in the SoCon Tournament against UNC Greensboro. Six of his saves came in the second half as he and the Eagles' defense kept the Knights off of the scoreboard.
The Camels won the Atlantic Sun regular season championship a year ago but are off to a 0-2 start this season.
GSU and Campbell squared off last season with the Camels winning the match 2-0. The Eagles will look to pick up a win in their home opener Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Eagle Field inside of the Erk Russell Athletic Park.
