Cross Country is Set to Run in the Elon Invitational Saturday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern cross country team, hot off their fourth place finish at the Gamecock Invitational, will be running in the 5K Elon Invitational Saturday at 9:15 a.m.
The Elon Invitational is a ten team meet that will take place on Elon's South Campus. The course will also be the site of the 2009 SoCon Championships.
The meet will feature conference foes College of Charleston, The Citadel, Elon, Furman and UNC Greensboro.
The Eagles are coming off a strong finish in their first meet of the season. Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) and Brittani Martin (Alpharetta, Ga.) led the Eagles across the finish line.
Robillard finished 30th with a new personal best time of 20:33.12. Her previous best time of 20:48.79 came in the Tiger Invitational last year. Martin crossed the finish line right behind her in 31st place with a time of 20:36.93.
The Eagles also got strong performances from the other freshmen.
Amanda Tennyson (Grayson, Ga.) was the third Eagle to cross the line. She finished with a time of 20:42.76 in her first meet. Heather McAllister (Cartersville, Ga.) finished 37th with a time of 21:01.46. Andreina Salas (Marietta, Ga.) crossed the line just behind McAlister with a time of 21:05.87.
The Eagles will look to record another great finish at the Elon Invitational Saturday at 9:15 a.m.
