SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Brianna Streetmon (Winder, Ga.) was named Pitcher of the Week by the Southern Conference for her performance against Samford.
The Sophomore pitcher picked up a pair of wins with almost identical performances this weekend. Streetmon pitched two complete game four-hit shutouts helping the Eagles pick up the series win over Samford. Even more impressive was the fact that she did not allow a single extra base hit in 14 innings.
Streetmon won her league-leading 10th game Sunday holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the 3-0 win. The Winder native allowed no extra-base hits and kept the lead runner from reaching in the first three innings.
This is the second honor Streetmon has received this season. She was named pitcher of the week for March 16th after carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning against Appalachian State and helped the Eagles complete the sweep over the Mountaineers.
The Georgia Southern softball team will be back in action at Elon. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. Friday at East Field.
