“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to coach at Georgia Southern University. I felt like at this time it was best for all parties involved to move on in my career. According to Athletics Director Sam Baker, a nation-wide search will begin immediately.
“Jeff and I talked on Monday and I have accepted his resignation. When Jeff took over we were coming off five consecutive losing seasons then under his direction we had seven straight seasons of .500 or better. I want to thank Jeff Price for his contributions to Georgia Southern.” said Baker.
The Eagles advanced to the 2006 NIT Tournament (first post-season appearance since 1992) thanks to winning their third Southern Conference South Division title in 2005-06.
