Softball Wraps Up Seven Game Road Swing at Georgia Tech

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern softball team (14-14, 5-4) will wrap up its seven game road trip Tuesday when they take on Georgia Tech (21-7) at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field.
The Yellow Jackets are 3-1 against Southern Conference competition this season. The Eagles are 11-41 all time against Georgia Tech with their last win coming in 2004 in a 3-1 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Southern evened its overall record with a 7-3 win in the series finale against Western Carolina. The Eagles tied their season high with 16 hits Sunday, and four Eagles had multi-hit games. Nina Iduate (Norcross, Ga.) added four hits, and Mackenzie Williams (Baxley, Ga.) went three for three with two RBIs.
Robyne Siliga (Oceanside, Calif.) put the Eagles on the scoreboard in the first inning with her sixth home run of the season. The senior third baseman is also in the midst of a eight-game hit streak, which started in the first game of the Appalachian State series (Mar 14).
Georgia Tech had its 11 game win streak snapped Sunday as Virginia Tech rallied to salvage the final game of the series.
The Yellow Jackets are led on offense by freshman Kelsi Weseman who leads the team in batting average (.432), slugging (.716) and doubles (11).
Georgia Tech also has a solid pitching staff and sports a team ERA of 1.83. Tiffany Johnson and Kristen Adkins both have ERAs under two and have a combined record of 18-5.
