Softball Travels to Atlanta to Face Georgia State Wednesday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern softball team (6-5) travels to Atlanta, Ga. Wednesday to face Georgia State (4-6) in a doubleheader at 3 p.m.
The Eagles are coming off a 2-3 performance in the Holiday Inn Eagle Classic this weekend but are the only SoCon team sitting above .500 this season.
Freshman Hanna Ennis (Snellville, Ga.) led the team with a .438 batting average in the Classic. She started her career with a nine-game hit streak before going hitless against Radford (Feb. 21). Ennis has also been solid in the field recording no errors in 18 chances.
Robyne Siliga (Oceanside, Calif.) continues to lead the team in batting average (.500), on-base percentage (.703) and slugging percentage (1.045). Siliga also hit the 30th home run of her career against Belmont (Feb. 21).
Amanda Hall (Haddock, Ga.) leads the team in multi-hit games (4) and multi-RBI games (4).
Brianna Streetmon (Winder, Ga.) had a solid weekend pitching 14 plus innings allowing five earned runs on eleven hits. Streetmon picked up the win in relief Sunday shutting down Oakland's offense and allowing no runs or hits.
Georgia State went 3-1 last weekend defeating Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb before losing in the championship game Sunday.
Catherine Lee leads the team with .320 batting average and has a .500 on-base percentage.
Madi Gore has started six games this season and has a 5.97 era. She has allowed an opponent batting average of .294.
Softball will take a weekend off before facing Jacksonville March 3rd in a doubleheader at Eagle Field.
