Swimming & Diving Face CCSA Foes Saturday

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern swimming & diving team (1-3) will face CCSA foes, College of Charleston (1-2) and North Florida (1-0) Saturday in a tri-meet at the Stern Center in Charleston, S.C.
The Eagles are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Georgia Tech Quad Meet. GS picked up their first win of the year over Florida Atlantic 147-141 in Atlanta and have had a week off to prepare for Saturday's meet.
Ali Campbell (Ft. McMurray, Alberta) had 3 top-10 finishes on the day. Campbell was a member of the seventh place 400 Free Relay team and finished sixth in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:38.64. Campbell finished 13th in the 200 Free with a time of 1:57.40.
Caroline Bevillard (Bishop, Ga.) finished 16th in the 200 Free with a time of 1:59.19. Bevillard also finished seventh in the 500 Free with a time of 5:12.48. She also posted a top-four conference time in the 100 Free (54.02). Courtney Martz (Woodbine, Ga.) also posted a top-four CCSA times in the 50 Free (24.56).
The College of Charleston went 1-1 last weekend, defeating Radford 138.8-91.5 but falling to Old Dominion 185-106. Sara Gardocki won the 200 Free (2:00.46) and the 500 Free (5:23.20) for the Cougars in the Radford meet. Grace Herlong highlighted the Old Dominion meet, picking up three runner-up finishes in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly and 1,000 Free.
UNF enters the tri-meet after opening the season with a 126-25 win over Florida A&M on Oct. 10. Emily Shaw earned CCSA Swimmer of the Week for her performance against the Rattlers after she won three events.
Saturday's tri-meet is set for 11 a.m. at the Stern Center in Charleston, S.C.
