Eagles Cross Country to Compete in 25th Annual Eye Opener Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga.- The Georgia Southern cross country team will race in Spartanburg, S.C., this Saturday, in the 25th annual Eye Opener Invitational at the Milliken Center. The meet is hosted by USC Upstate and is expected to draw more than 700 participants from 70 teams. The meet will feature a variety of schools including Division I, Division II, and Junior College programs.

Head Coach Natalie Smith and the Eagles will be looking to build on a strong fourth place finish at the Gamecock Invitational Friday. The top two finishers from last week, sophomore Kassi Lee (Elberton, Ga.), and junior Laura Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.), will look to best their 5 K times from last week of 20:13.70 and 21:15.00 respectively.
