Rock Hill, S.C. ? The Georgia Southern Cross Country team placed 16th at the 20th Annual Asics Winthrop Invitational at Winthrop Farm.
The Lady Eagles missed out on 15th place by two points.
Laura Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) crossed the finish line first for the Lady Eagles with a time of 20:49, which was good enough for 98th place.
Senior, Shauntel Jennings (Stone Mountain, Ga.) finished the 5k event in 105th place, with a time of 20:58.
Georgia Southern's freshman trio competed well in just their third race of their careers.
Leah Bradley (McDonough, Ga.) crossed the line fourth for the Lady Eagles with a time of 22:02, Brittani Martin (Alpharetta, Ga.) finished third on the team with a 21:43 mark and Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Fla) was the fifth Lady Eagle to cross the finish line completing the 5k event with a time of 22:19.
Sophomore, Melissa Royer (Cumming, Ga.) was the last Lady Eagle to cross the finish line. She did so with a time of 23:58.
