Cabe Waters is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Georgia Southern women's golf program.
Year one saw the Eagles win their first Sun Belt Championship, and Georgia Southern finished seventh at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional in its first NCAA Championship appearance. The Eagles posted two team wins and three runner-up finishes while shooting eight of the 10 lowest rounds in program history, and their season scoring average of 298.63 is the best in school history. The Eagles' three-round total of 851 at the Buccaneer Classic in the fall broke the school record by 20 strokes, and their 278 in the second round was also a school record.
A four-year member of the Limestone men’s golf team, Waters just finished his fourth season as an assistant coach for the school’s men’s and women’s golf programs. He has helped guide the Saints’ women’s program to the quarterfinals of match play in each of the last two NCAA Division II National Championships.
The Limestone women won consecutive Conference Carolinas Championships in 2018 and 2019 and won the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Championship. The Saints took third in the 2021 NCAA Regional to advance to the Finals, where they won stroke play to earn the top seed for match play. Altogether, Limestone won eight tournaments in the 2020-21 season.
During his tenure as an assistant coach, Waters has helped mentor a total of 34 All-Conference selections, five All-Region honorees and a 10 All-Americans.
A two-time All-Conference Carolinas selection as a student-athlete, Waters helped lead the Blue and Gold to three straight conference championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. He was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team in each of his last two seasons and was the 2017 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Waters graduated from Limestone in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Management.
