
Ward and Brejo Collect Postseason Sun Belt Honors

STATESBORO – Georgia Southern women's golf collected a pair of postseason awards on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the Sun Belt Conference. Junior Haven Ward was named the league's Newcomer of the Year, while Margaux Brejo earned third-team honors.
Ward joined the Eagles for the 2025-26 season, after spending her first two years at Denver. The Atlanta, Georgia, native appeared in all 10 matches for the Blue and White, posting 30 rounds. She collected two top 10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the Valspar Augusta Invitational (77-69-68=214), tying her lowest collegiate tournament score.
She carded back-to-back rounds under par at the Valspar Augusta Invitational, earning her first Sun Belt Women's Golfer of the Week honor (March 19, 2026). She tied a career low round at the Sun Belt Championship, posting a 68 in round two with five birdies and her first collegiate eagle. Ward finished second on the team in birdies, producing 63 and posted a season scoring average of 74.63 in 30 rounds. Ward becomes the fourth women's golfer in program history to earn Newcomer of the Year honors, joining Mia Kness (2022), Haley Yerxa (2023), and LoraLie Cowart (2025).
Brejo, a native of Fontainebleau, France, enjoyed a successful first collegiate season with the Eagles. She appeared in all 10 tournaments, competing in 30 rounds. She posted her best finish of the season at the Sun Belt Championship, carding an even-par tournament (72-69-75=216) to finish tied for seventh. At the Gators Invitational and Sun Belt Championship, Brejo posted career-best rounds of 69. She was second on the team in scoring average, but led the squad with 70 total birdies, averaging 2.3 per round in her rookie campaign. She was one of two Eagles on the squad to produce even or under par tournaments, while leading the team with eight rounds at even or under par. Brejo becomes the 12th player in program history to earn a spot on the All-Sun Belt teams.
