George Casper

George Casper serves as the assistant director of athletics in the compliance office at Georgia Southern, a post he assumed in 2024. Casper came to Statesboro after working at Idaho since 2019, first as a compliance coordinator before moving up to assistant director for NCAA Compliance.

At Idaho, Casper’s responsibilities included overseeing the entirety of Idaho’s NCAA compliance operations for each of the 16 Division I programs. He served as a direct liaison for Idaho’s financial aid, student accounts, registrar, and admissions offices on campus. Casper worked directly with over 300+ student-athletes, coaches, staff, and administrators to ensure Idaho Athletics provides the best student-athlete experience possible within the parameters of NCAA Division I rules.

Before Idaho, Casper served as a compliance officer for Alaska Anchorage from August 2018 through October 2019. Casper oversaw the entirety of the compliance operation for the department’s 11 Division II sports and two Division I sports (hockey and gymnastics). At Alaska Anchorage Casper gained a well-rounded understanding of NCAA compliance and how to oversee a compliance operation.

From July 2014 through May 2015, Casper served in his first compliance role as a graduate assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi. At Southern Miss, he contributed to the day-to-day operations in the office as well as football game day responsibilities. Casper had great mentors that provided him with a solid foundation of NCAA compliance philosophies and management.

Casper earned his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Idaho in 2018 after he earned his Master’s in Sports Administration from Southern Miss in 2015. In undergrad, Casper competed for the College of Idaho on the varsity baseball squad. He earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from COI in 2014.

Casper hails from Pocatello, Idaho.
