Ege Cankus begins his second season working with the Georgia Southern men's tennis team as a graduate assistant coach in 2025-26.
Cankus joins the Eagles from Idaho State, where he played for four years for the Bengals. He went 8-3 in singles during the dual match season as a senior in 2024, including a 3-1 record in Big Sky competition. He also went 15-8 in doubles competition, including a 13-7 mark during the dual match season, earning second-team All-Big Sky Conference honors. Cankus served as team captain as well as the SAAC president. He graduated from Idaho State in the Spring of 2024 with his bachelor’s degree in finance and management.

A native of Izmir, Turkey, Cankus was a U14 and U16 national doubles champion in his native country and sports career UTR high rankings of 12.09 (doubles) and 11.55 (singles). He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in professional communication and leadership from Georgia Southern.
