Responsibilities: Wencl has oversight of the athletics facilities at Georgia Southern University, working in conjunction with university officials to ensure they are in proper working condition and ready for competition. He is the event manager for volleyball and women's basketball, while still also assisting with event management for football.

Prior to Georgia Southern: Wencl spent four years at Rice University as the assistant director of facilities and event management for the athletic department. Prior to Rice, he worked at Jacksonville University as the director of facilities and operations for the athletics department. From November 2007 to May 2008, he served as the assistant director of facilities and operations for the department of recreation and intercollegiate athletics at Penn.

Of Note: Wencl was the championship administrator for the 2018 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He also played an integral role in preparing for, and hosting, Super Bowl practices for the Atlanta Falcons. He was involved with the $2.3 million large-scale renovation project at Ley Track & Soccer Complex. While at JU, he organized and oversaw Gator Bowl practices hosted annually on campus. While in grad school, he served as the Assistant Tournament Director for 2007 Men’s NCAA Tennis Regional.
