Former collegiate standout Connor Pollman joined the Georgia Southern men’s golf staff as an assistant coach in 2024. Pollman came to Statesboro after serving as the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs at his alma mater, Lee University.
In 2024-25, Georgia Southern finished third in Sun Belt stroke play and advanced to match play for the seventh time in the past eight contested championships and Brantley Baker tied for third in the individual competition. He became the 11th Eagle in program history to finish in the top three at the SBC event. Parker Claxton recorded the 15th-lowest season average in program history, earning an individual spot at the Auburn Regional and also earned All-East Region honors from PING and the GCAA.
Prior to Statesboro, Pollman helped lead the Lee men’s team to a berth in the NCAA DII National Championship by leaping five spots from a tie of eighth place into a tie for third on the final day of the Regional Tournament. Additionally, Oliver Lewis-Perkins earned all-region honors and was named Gulf South Conference golfer of the year. On the women’s side, Lee also qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA South Regional. Supuschaya “Yui” Srichantamit was named Gulf South Conference Golfer of the Year and two other golfers were named First-Team All-GSC.
From Cumming, Georgia, Pollman began his golfing career in 2017-18 and also excelled in the classroom earning an undergraduate degree in business management in 2021 and a master’s in business administration in 2022, both from Lee.
On the course, Pollman played an integral part in Lee’s 2022 Division II national championship as he finished fifth individually and went 3-0 against three All-Americans in medal play. Pollman also helped his team to a pair of quarterfinal appearances and was a part of seven team wins, including three in the postseason.
Individually, Pollman posted a 73.56 career scoring average, which is the sixth best in program history and he played a school-record 126 career rounds. He had four top-five finishes, eight top-10 finishes and 14 top-20 finishes out of 43 career events, earning first-team all-conference, all-region and second-team All-America honors.
