Terry Hutchinson is in his second season on the Georgia Southern volleyball coaching staff and serves as the recruiting coordinator. His duties also include training the middles and teaching and implementing the Eagles' blocking schemes.

Before arriving in Statesboro, Hutchinson spent the previous two seasons as the assistant coach for Elizabethtown College, and the season prior with Franklin and Marshall College. He brings years of experience as both a player and a coach from all levels of the sport to Georgia Southern.

Hutchinson attended East Stroudsburg University, helping lead his team to consecutive appearances in the EIVA Division I Final Four, both times bowing out to Penn State. He finished the 1995 and 1996 seasons nationally-ranked in blocking and was named All-EIVA Division I in 1996.

In the summer of 1995, he was selected to the US Olympic Festival, which was part of the US National Team training program. During the Festival Games, he helped his East team win the gold medal.

Hutchinson began coaching in 2003 with the Norlanco Girls' Volleyball Club and has since coached for Yorktowne and Spooky Nook volleyball clubs. He has also spent four years as the head varsity coach at Manheim Township High School and has seven years of experience as a certified strength and speed/agility coach.

A 1993 graduate of Warwick High School, he was selected to the Lancaster/Lebanon League All-Star team twice, as well as All-District III and all-state as a senior. He was also selected for the East vs. West All-State All-Star game.
