Anette Rios Gil joined the Eagles as an assistant coach in 2014 and has helped current head coach Michele Stanford transition into the head coach role. During her first year, she helped the Eagles reach a 13-17 record in Sun Belt play.
 
Before joining Georgia Southern, Gil has worked across the nation at summer tennis academies including two summers in Weston, Fla., two years at the Tech Tennis Center (2011-12) and Gorin Tennis Academy in Granite Bay, Ca. during the summer of 2015.
 
Gil received her undergraduate degree in Spanish and International Global Studies from UNCG, where she had a successful four years as a student-athlete. She gained Southern Conference end-of-the-season awards her freshman, junior and senior years, including two Second-Team All-Conference honors, one First-Team All-Conference and one Freshman Team All-Conference.
 
Gil was born in Caracas, Venezuela where she began her tennis career.
