Miles Phipps

Miles Phipps joined the Georgia Southern Strength & Conditioning staff in July 2024 as a graduate assistant. His primary responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of development for the Eagles' women’s soccer, track &field/cross country and women’s golf programs, while also assisting Hunter Lakey with the development of the baseball program.

Since arriving at Georgia Southern, Phipps has been a part of historic seasons for both the track & field and women’s golf teams. During the 2024-25 season, the women’s golf attended their first ever NCAA Championship, finishing 24th in the nation, and track & field set a school record for number of athletes (7) sent to the NCAA East Regional, concluding with Imani Moore’s advancement to the NCAA Outdoor Championship.

Prior to Georgia Southern, Phipps received significant experience within Clemson University Athletics while completing his undergraduate degree from August 2020 to December 2023.

From 2022 to 2023, Phipps was a paid intern in the weight room with Clemson Football’s Strength & Conditioning staff under the legendary Coach Joey Batson. During this time, he mainly assisted with the development of the offensive line position group, while also gaining experience with other various position groups and NFL athlete off-season training. During these two football seasons, Clemson would win one ACC Championship.

From 2020 to mid 2022, Phipps was a paid intern with Clemson University Sports Medicine and worked primarily with Clemson Football. This position also involved gaining experience in the treatment of various Olympic teams at Clemson, including both men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, track & field, and volleyball. During this time, Clemson Football would win one ACC Championship and make a College Football Playoff appearance.

A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Phipps is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish Studies from Clemson University.
