Warren Goosby

Warren Goosby begins his first season as the Director of Basketball Operations for Georgia Southern women's basketball in 2021-22.

Goosby returns to Southeast Georgia following a year hiatus from coaching at the collegiate level. He is the former Head Women's Basketball Coach at East Georgia State College in Swainsboro, Ga. While in Swainsboro, Goosby doubled their conference wins, led the Bobcats to a Final Four appearance and was named the Co-Coach of the Year.

A Double Eagle, Goosby received both his Bachelor's Degree in English with a double minor in Exercise Science (emphasis in Coaching) and Africana Studies, and his Master's in Kinesiology with a Concentration in Coaching from Georgia Southern in May of 2005.

Before his stint at the helm of the East Georgia women's program, Goosby got his start in collegiate athletics as an assistant on the East Georgia men's team for five seasons and was a skills trainer.  Goosby began his coaching career with several notable hometown legendary coaches like Lee Hill at Statesboro High School, Tim Jordan at Savannah High School, and Leroy Jordan Jr. at Swainsboro High School.

As the Director of Basketball Operations, Goosby will report to Coach Howard. This is a non-coaching position which will oversee the daily operation of the Women's Basketball program. This position will assist and support coaching operations related to office logistics, team travel, camps, recruiting visits, community engagement, and more.
