Ray Williams is in her second season on the Georgia Southern women’s basketball staff. She will handle a bulk of the administrative duties, including coordinating travel and film exchange.
“Ray has the perfect demeanor to be able to relate to our student-athletes, and her experience playing at the highest level makes her a positive role model,” said head coach Chris Vozab.
Williams was a four-year letterwinner at New Hampshire from 2003-07, where she tallied 872 points and 569 rebounds and 84 blocked shots in 105 contests. She ranks 12th on the school’s rebounding list and fifth in blocked shots.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology from New Hampshire in 2007, Williams played professionally in Denmark from 2008-09 before returning to her native, Canada, to begin a career in teaching.
She served as an assistant basketball coach for the Brampton Lady Warriors and taught grades 9-12 in the Peel District in 2012-13 before joining the Georgia Southern staff.
Williams is working towards her master’s degree in social science at Georgia Southern.
