Rachel Ploor

Rachel Ploor joined the Georgia Southern Athletic Department in August 2013 and currently serves as the Associate Head Athletic Trainer. She was promoted to this role in June 2017.

In her current role she provides athletic training services for the women's basketball team, coordinates student-athlete medical bill and insurance, supervises graduate assistant athletic trainers, organizes pre-participation physical exams, assists with drug testing, and manages the day to day operations of the Hanner Fieldhouse athletic training facility.

Ploor serves as a Preceptor in Georgia Southern's athletic training education program, providing clinical instruction to undergraduate students. She guest lectures in senior level athletic training classes on topics such as drug testing, medical billing and insurance, third party reimbursement, and budgeting. In May of 2016, Ploor was recognized by the athletic training education program as the preceptor that made the most impact on students. 

Ploor came to Statesboro after serving as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Arkansas State, where she worked with the men's and women's Track and Field teams. She received a Master's Degree in Sports Administration in 2013 from Arkansas State. 

In 2011, Ploor graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.  While at Salisbury, Ploor was awarded the Hunter R. Smith Athletic Training Student Scholarship as well as the Hunter R. Smith Outstanding Senior Athletic Training Award. 

Ploor is originally from Crownsville, Maryland, and holds credentials in Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Level I-II, CPR and First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, Kinesiotape Level 1-3, Graston M1 Level, and Stop the Bleed, Save a Life.
