Sam Garrison

Sam Garrison was promoted to Assistant Director, Student-Athlete Services in September of 2018. Garrison works with our men’s football program.

Prior to moving to assistant director for Student-Athlete Services, Garrison worked with the football, women’s golf and men’s soccer teams as an academic advisor since fall 2014.

Prior to arriving in Statesboro, Garrison was an intern in Student-Athlete Services at Clemson University. At Clemson, he worked with the football and men’s tennis teams. In addition, he worked with the tutor and mentor programs, and the Summer Immersion program for Freshmen Student-Athletes.

Garrison received a Bachelor of Arts in sports management with a minor in business administration and a Masters of Education in sports management, both from Wichita State University. During his time at Wichita State, he competed for the track & field team as a hurdler and a sprinter. He left as a top-10 performer in school history in the 60-meter hurdles and the 110-meter hurdles and was an NCAA Championship Regional Qualifier.

Garrison graduated Summa Cum Laude and was an USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team member. In addition, Garrison served as a graduate assistant in Student-Athlete Services, where he worked with golf, softball, tennis and track & field, as well as the athletic compliance department.

Garrison lives in Pooler with his wife, Caitlin, and their two dogs Lady and Boomer.
