Megan Hill

Former collegiate standout Megan Hill is in her first season on the Georgia Southern softball staff as an assistant coach. She spent the past two years as a member of the coaching staff at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia.
 
In her collegiate playing days, Hill was a standout outfielder for the University of Southern Mississippi. During her time with the Golden Eagles, Hill was a four-time All-Conference USA selection, including garnering first-team accolades as a junior in 2009. She also earned All-Midwest Region First-Team honors in 2009. Prior to the 2010 season, she was named the Preseason Conference-USA Player of the Year after earning preseason all-conference honors in both 2008 and 2009. She was named the Conference USA Newcomer of the Year in 2007 and was also named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team that year.

Hill finished her career atop the Golden Eagles’ record book in multiple career offensive categories, including runs scored (148), hits (205), triples (15), home runs (41), runs batted in (151) and on base percentage (.495). She is also currently second in program history with 40 career doubles and a .675 slugging percentage. Hill is in the top-10 in multiple single season offensive categories.

At West Georgia, Hill worked with the Wolves’ outfielders and also had a hand in hitting instruction as well as base running instruction. She helped with planning and implementing practices and also helped with field preparation and maintenance. She also worked as a graduate assistant for strength & conditioning.
 
Prior to her time at West Georgia, Hill was an assistant coach at Oak Grove High School as well as Petal High School, both in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. At both stops she helped oversee the offense as well as developed the outfielders. At Oak Grove, she was instrumental in guiding the team to the 2013 district championship as well as the AAAAAA South State Championship and the overall AAAAAA state crown. In 2011 at Petal HS, she helped guide the team to the district championship as well as the AAAAAA South State Championship. Petal finished the 2011 campaign as the state runner-up.
 
Hill is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and holds a degree in exercise science from Southern Miss as well as a Master of Arts in teaching from the University of West Georgia.
