Brock Van Faussien

Brock Van Faussien begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Georgia Southern softball program in 2020-21.

Van Faussien is in charge of all of the offensive aspects of the Eagles' squad, as well as assisting in recruiting efforts. The Eagles hit .289 as a team in the truncated 2020 season and led the Sun Belt conference in doubles (38), while also ranking third in on-base percentage (.385) and run scored (5.42 runs per game).

Van Faussein joined the Eagles from the University of Pittsburgh, where he spent the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach. The Panthers hit 55 home runs during his season in Pittsburgh.

Prior to joining the Panthers, Van Faussien spent the 2017-18 season as a volunteer assistant at the University of Georgia, helping the Bulldogs compile a 48-13 overall record and a Women's College World Series berth.

Van Faussien started his coaching career on the baseball side, serving as a graduate assistant at Clemson and as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Liberty. He was an assistant coach at Southeastern Louisiana before moving to softball with his position at Georgia.

A 1997 graduate of Liberty University, Van Faussien earned his bachelor's degree in sports management in 1997. He and his wife, Reba, have one daughter, Charlotte Sue, and one son, JJ.
