2015-16: The starting long snapper once again … Saw action in all 12 games … Snapped for 58 PATs and 17 field goals on the season … Also handled all of the punt snapping duties … Was in for 122 total special teams snaps on the season … Recorded one solo tackle in the win over New Mexico State.
2014-15: Played in 11 games as the Eagles’ long snapper … Eagles had no field goals and just one punt blocked on the season.
2013-14: Played in 10 games.
2012-13: Saw action in 14 games as long snapper and on special teams … Credited with fumble recovery vs. Chattanooga on punt return to give Eagles the ball back for score-tying drive in fourth quarter.
2011: Enrolled at UAB … Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterman at Collins Hill High School seeing action at four different positions: offensive line, defensive end, long snapper and fullback … Also earned a varsity letter in baseball … Graduated with honors and 3.7 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Born September 5, 1992 … Son of Troy and Janice Banta … Member of the USSSA AAA baseball team that won National World Series as a 10-year-old.
